MERLIN RICHARDS MYSTERIES (by Keith Miles)
Merlin Richards is an earnest young Welsh architect, who tires of working in the family practice because of its limited opportunities. On the strength of an encouraging note from his hero, Frank Lloyd Wright, he sets out for America with his harp and high ambition. His adventures are chronicled in MURDER IN PERSPECTIVE, set in Arizona, where his mentor is involved in the building of the Biltmore Hotel, and where one of the concrete blocks used in construction is also a murder weapon; more villainy intrudes in SAINT'S REST, another name for Oak Park, a leafy suburb of Chicago where Frank Lloyd Wright once lived and left some of his finest architectural work. Engaged in the design of a house for a tycoon in the meat trade, Merlin Richards finds the project doomed when a dead man is found dangling in the wine cellar of the new home.
