The Railway Detective's Christmas Case
When a works manager is shot dead in the Malvern Hills, Inspector Colbeck and Sergeant Leeming are sent to investigate. The problem is that Superintendent Tallis insists on coming with them and directing operations.
The detectives meet a helpful station master in Malvern itself but get little assistance from the Worcestershire Constabulary. Since they believe that the assassination was plotted by someone in the works that employed the murder victim, they have to divide their time between the Black Country and the Malverns.
The fact that Christmas is getting ever closer complicates the situation and they are forced into a race against time.
